Rosemary is an essential oil with the following important application.

Hair care : Rosemary oil is extensively used for hair care. Regular use of rosemary oil helps in stimulating follicles, as a result of which hair grows longer and stronger. Rosemary oil slows down premature hair loss and graying of hair. Regular massage on scalp with rosemary oil nourishes the scalp and removes dandruff.

Rosemary essential oil is a disinfectant and is used as a mouth wash. It also helps in removing bad breath.

Rosemary oil is an effective physical and mental stimulant. Herbalists have traditionally used it to revitalize the circulatory and nervous systems thereby improving memory and energy levels. Added to shower gels or dispersed in a bath, rosemary oil will lift the spirits and cure feelings of sluggishness and lethargy. Alternatively put a couple of drops on a hanky and inhale the scent.

Added to carrier oil or lotion and massaged onto the affected area, rosemary oil will relax aching, tired or strained muscles and remove stiffness.

The ability of rosemary essential oil to relieve pain has resulted in its extensive usage in headaches, muscle pains, sore muscles, rheumatism and even arthritis. Massaging the part which is in pain with rosemary essential oil give relief from the pain. Vapor baths with rosemary oil is found to be effective for rheumatism.
